- Please contact us for our bank account information.
What types of files can I include in the
slideshow?
You can include: Windows Bitmap (.bmp, .rle), JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PICT (.pct, .pic), Portable
network graphic (.png), TIFF (.tif, .tiff), TARGA (.tga, .vda, .icb, .vst), MPEG-1 (.m1p, .m1v, .mp1, .mpg, .mpeg, .mpv),

Video (.wmv).
What types of digital media can I put my images
onto, in order that you can use them?
You can
use: CD-ROM, Compact Flash Types I & II, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, xD Picture Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick
Duo, Pro & Pro Duo, Secure Digital or MultiMedia Card Types I & II.
How many images can I have on one
DVD?
A DVD is
capable of storing 4.7 GBytes of data. However, in order to provde you with a high quality product that will consistently
play properly everytime, we have decided to limit the slideshow length to 90 minutes or 250 slides.
DVD+R or DVD-R: Which one should I request?
Both formats
are equally as good as each other, as far as recording quality and storage capacity are concerned. In addition, the vast majority
of DVD players on the market will accept both formats. However, if you do have any concerns about the format you require,
you will need to check the specification of the DVD player on which the DVD is intended to be played on. If you need some
assistance in making a selection, then please request this via the "additional information" field at the bottom of the
form and we will do our best to help.
Can you supply a DVD in NTSC format?
No. We
currently offer our services to UK customers only, and so therefore there is little point in providing DVD's other than
in the European PAL format.
Can I order more than one copy of the DVD?
Yes. The
online quotation form allows you to request up to 5 copies. If you need 6 or more, then please request this via the "additional
information" field at the bottom of the form. In addition, the standard offering for our
"Weddings & Special Occasions Service" is 3 copies, but if you do want more 4 or more copies with this service, then please
request a price for this in the "additional information" field at the bottom of the Quotation Request page.
How long after I receive my DVD can I order additional
copies?
We will
keep an electronic "master" copy of your DVD production on file for thirty days after we dispatch the original
out to you. So, provided we receive payment for additional copies during this period, there won't be any problems.
If you want a copy after thirty days, we would have to create a slideshow from the beginning again, and so you would
have to resend all of your original images back to us. This is because we delete all of the files as part of our quality and
customer privacy procedure and therefore we would have to treat this request as a brand new slideshow project. Sorry!
How
do I create a Slideshow that has both movies and stills?
You just
need to state this on the online quotation request form and we can then provide a suitable quotation. However, you still need
to bear in mind that the total duration of the entire DVD must not exceed 90 minutes.
How
do I request image captions?
You just
need to list them out on the order form. The form allows you to state whereabouts in the slideshow that you want the
captions to be inserted. The maximum number of captions that you can have, is three image captions per fifty still images,
or three image captions per thirty minutes of home movie footage.
How
do I request chapters to go into the slideshow?
Again,
you just need to list them out on the order form. The form allows you to state whereabouts in the slideshow that you
want the chapters to be inserted. The maximum number of chapters that you can have, is six.
What
image enhancements do you offer?
We carry
out red eye reduction, colour enhancement and image cropping, but only on the images that you think need some improvements.
When you complete the order form, you need to indicate which ones need some attention.
What
resolution do you scan at?
We are
able to scan up to 1200 dpi, but if you provide us with a small image to include, we will consider using a lower scan
rate to help reduce the overall file size that is to be put onto the finished DVD. However, we do take quality issues very
seriously, and our priority is to provide an outstanding, high quality slideshow. Therefore, if the image requires a
maximum scan rate in order to look its best, then that is what we will do.
What
is the largest size photo that I can include into my slideshow?
The largest
would be A4 size (30cm x 21cm, or 11.8 inches x 8.27 inches). For this size of images, we would definitely scan at 1200 dpi.
What
are your quality control procedures?
After we
have finished creating the DVD, we will watch the entire production to ensure that the images are in the correct order and
have been edited as per your requests. In addition, we will perform a final check on the slideshow title, chapter locations,
image captions and DVD packaging. However, in the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with your DVD please tell
us and we will do our best to resolve any issues.
Do you put any images and titles on the DVD and the cover?
This depends on
what service that you actually want us to do for you. For our standard offering, the DVD will be labelled with your
choice of title and is supplied in a case with the same title on its spine and front, plus images from
the slideshow (of your choice) on both the box and the DVD itself. If you
are opting for a VHS to DVD conversion, the cover and the DVD will have the title. Lastly, if you are getting your
images converted to JPEG, then the disc itself will have a title on it and it will be packaged in a standard CD jewel
case, with no additional labelling or packaging.
Are there copyright restrictions when adding music to accompany the slideshow?
Yes. This
is because all purchased music is copyright protected and can only be listened to by the person who owns that
original copy. In addition that person cannot make any subsequent copies and cannot use it to accompany anything of a
visual nature, even for their own use. The copyright laws mean that we, as a producer of audiovisual work, can purchase
a production license that enables us to add music onto a slideshow for you, provided you own an original copy
of that recording. Therefore, if you want to add music to the slideshow, then you will need to send your CD's in the
post with your other material. Alternatively, by prior arrangement with us, you can email your MP3 files for us to use instead.
How
much music can I include?
The production
license comes in two flavours - 30 and 90 minutes. So, provided you stay within one of these two limits, it's beneficial to
get as close as you can to these durations. If you want our "Weddings & Special Occasions Service", the license is automatically
included in the total cost and we will purchase the type of license (30 or 90 minutes) depending upon the total number of
photos that are to be used in the slideshow, thus determining the its total duration.
Are
there copyright restrictions on visual material?
Yes. We
cannot use any images or movies that are under copyright by say, a professional photographer. If you did want to
use these images you would have to gain their permission and provide us with some written evidence of it. However, any images
or movies that have been taken by yourself, family, friends, etc. are perfectly OK to use in a slideshow.
Are
there any restrictions on image content?
Yes. We
will not use any images that contain nudity, pornography, violence or recreational drug use. If we are sent any images that
are not suitable for family viewing, we will not create a slidehow and together with your payment, would return all of your
material back to you.
How do I send my material that I want to include
in the slideshow, over to you?
When sending
your source media to us, it's best to send everything along with your order form and method of payment via a service that
requires a signature on delivery. When we return your material and DVD(s) we will use Royal Mail Special Delivery (which again,
requires a signature on delivery). Be sure to use a cardboard reinforced envelope and to mark it "contains fragile items, do
not bend."
Can
I email anything, rather then post it?
Provided
that the files you want to send are not too large, then this is fine. However, please contact us first (via email, phone
or the online quotation request form) to check if it will be OK.
How
do you send the DVD and my material back to me?
We send
everything back to you via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery, and provided the total amount does not weigh more then 500g, this
is included in our costs.
Where
can you deliver to?
Anywhere
that has a UK address.
How long does it take?
We quote
30 days as our standard delivery, which commences when we receive payment, a completed order form and all of the
visual and audio material that is to be included in the slideshow, to us dispatching the finished article. This allows for
the time taken to be granted a music copying license (if required) as well as scanning non digital images, editing, production
and then quality control. For the "Weddings & Special Occasions Service" the 30 days begins as soon as we receive the
cameras back, after the event.
What
if I need my DVD delivered more quickly than your standard 30 days turnaround time?
We do our
best to keep customers satisfied, and if we can accommodate your request for an earlier delivery, we will. However, subject
to our workload at the time, this may incur a price increase. If you do need to discuss this with us, then please use the
extra comments field at the bottom of the online quotation request form, or contact us via the phone, or email.
